Nixon Time Teller

THE TIME TELLER ($125)

I've always been a fan of watches. And though their usefulness may have been nullified with the advent of smartphone, their instant upgrade to an outfit never will be. A pair of jeans, sneakers, and a white t-shirt, when worn with a watch, can instantly turn a bland look into a well intentioned outfit--witness the power of the watch!

So, with that in mind, I've been on the hunt for a summer fling of a gold watch for the longest time and only recently found one that works for me: The Time Teller by Nixon.

At a price point of $125 it's inexpensive enough to grab at the airport on your way to the gate without worrying about water damage at the beach. This little baby looks like much more than it's price tag and can be worn with almost anything. I definitely feel the way it upgrades my outfits outweighs its actual worth.

The watch is adjustable, but I have really small wrists and find that even on the smallest setting, it's still worn a little loose. Though I almost prefer it hanging a little, so I don't mind.

My only qualm is that since it's a chain watch that's stretchy it pulls out my arm hairs. For me it's not a deal breaker, but it might be for you, so just keep that in mind. It's a little annoying to feel a small pinch on my arm every now and then, but it's not often enough that it ruins your mood, just a minor inconvenience when it happens.

Be sure and check back next week!
